How much does it cost?

SEASnet charges $100/year. Upgrades and security patches for WordPress core, themes, and plugins are on us, so you only need to focus on your website design and content. Furthermore, we don’t nickel-and-dime you on storage, visits, and bandwidth. With our low-cost annual fee that cannot be beaten, you’ll get unlimited storage/visits/bandwidth and flexible site design that is limited only by your imagination.

What will my site look like?

You can design your site however you like.  Please check out some examples here.

What will my URL look like and can I change the URL?

By default, your URL will be of the format https://research.seas.ucla.edu/your-site-name and you can specify the initial your-site-name. If you have an existing URL, we will assist you as much as possible to redirect or map it to https://research.seas.ucla.edu/your-site-name.

Can I install additional plugins or themes?

You need to choose from the available plugins and themes in the library. With over 100 themes and plugins already available for you, we hope you will find what you need.

Who updates WordPress core, plugins, and themes?

Not you!  In order to ensure the reliability of our service, CampusPress.com (our hosting partner) performs all the maintenance during a regularly scheduled weekly window.

How Do I Get My WordPress Site Listed on Google?
You need to make sure that your WordPress site is visible to search engines. You can check this by going to Settings » Reading page and scrolling down to the Search Engine Visibility option. Make sure to select “Allow search engines to index this site,” so search engines can crawl your website.
And Don’t forget to click on the ‘Save changes’ button to store your settings.
